Investor CRM for GPs compared: 7 platforms, from relationship intelligence to fund operations

Checked against our editorial standards6 min read

Quick answer

As of October 16, 2026, two of seven investor CRMs compared publish a price: Affinity charges $2,000 to $2,700 per user per year and folk charges $24 to $80 per member per month. DealCloud, Dynamo, Altvia, 4Degrees and Vessel quote. For a fund that wants dedicated relationship intelligence with a published price and AI agents built for the deal cycle, Affinity is the pick. A GP who wants the CRM inside their fund operations platform, linked to subscriptions and capital calls, should look at Vessel.

The short answer

Every fund tracks LP relationships somewhere. The question is which tool fits the GP's situation. Two shapes of product compete here.

The first is the standalone investor CRM: a system built to map warm paths, capture every email and calendar event automatically, score relationships and surface who to call next. Affinity, 4Degrees and DealCloud live here, with folk as a lighter, published-price version. The second shape is the CRM built into a fund operations platform: no separate login, no data migration, but the LP who enters the pipeline can be handed directly to a subscription document and an onboarding flow. Vessel is the example, and Altvia and Dynamo sit between the two with CRM and an LP portal in one product.

Published price separates the field more than features do. Affinity and folk name a number. Everyone else quotes.

What each one actually is

Affinity is a relationship-intelligence CRM for private capital, stating 3,300+ firms across PE, VC and private credit. It maps every email, calendar event and interaction into a relationship graph, scores connections and surfaces warm paths. The three plans differ in AI capability: Essential covers the relationship graph and deal pipeline; Scale adds the meeting notetaker, AI Chat and the Ascend agents platform, which automates meeting prep, conversation capture and pipeline updates, plus MCP server access; Advanced adds PitchBook and Crunchbase enrichment. Enterprise adds fund-level permissions for multi-fund complexity. No LP portal. Published price on the page. Verified October 16, 2026.

Dynamo Software is a front-to-back platform for alternatives covering CRM, investor portal, fundraising, portfolio monitoring and analytics. Its investor relations module handles LP contact management, fundraising activity and document sharing, with the portal for ongoing reporting. It serves PE, VC, hedge and real estate. Its site blocked automated fetches on October 16, 2026; the row draws on its June 2024 Investor Portal v3.0 release and publicly available marketing captured that day. Price: quote-based.

DealCloud (Intapp) is described on its product page as an AI-powered deal and relationship intelligence platform built for professional-services and private capital firms. Its investor relations module handles LP pipeline and contact management alongside deal origination, diligence and portfolio reporting in a configurable system. Its target buyer is a multi-strategy firm with complexity that simpler tools cannot configure to. No LP portal. No published price. Verified October 16, 2026.

Altvia is a GP engagement platform built on Salesforce, covering investor CRM, data room, LP portal and deal sourcing. Its site states 120,000+ LP portal users globally. The CRM and the portal share one record, so a fundraising contact becomes a portal user at close without migration. The Salesforce foundation gives it a 4,000+ integration library and Salesforce's configuration model. Price: quote-based. Verified October 16, 2026.

4Degrees is an AI relationship CRM for PE, VC and advisory firms that describes itself as more affordable than comparable tools, though it publishes no per-user price. It captures emails and calendar events automatically, surfaces warm paths and tracks deal flow alongside LP relationships. Targeted at smaller funds that want Affinity-like relationship intelligence at a lower per-seat number. No LP portal. Price: quote-based per user per month, figure not published. Verified October 16, 2026.

folk is a general-purpose CRM with a VC vertical, priced from $24 per member per month on annual billing. It is not fund-specific; the VC use case is LP pipeline tracking, contact enrichment from LinkedIn, email sync and fundraising sequence management. Standard includes email campaigns, AI assistants and 5,000+ integrations including WhatsApp. It is the only vendor here with published monthly pricing under $100 per user and the first time it appears in this site's vendor table. No LP portal. Verified October 16, 2026.

Vessel is a fund operations platform whose LP discovery and CRM tools sit inside the same system as the data room, subscription documents, KYC, capital calls, distributions and the LP portal. The CRM value is integration: a lead who enters the pipeline can be handed directly to a subscription document and onboarding flow on the same record. Vessel does not offer a standalone CRM product. Product pages returned technical code on October 16, 2026; the row draws on the October 14, 2026 verification. Price: quote-based.

Who should choose which

  • Choose Affinity if the fund's most important asset is its LP network, you want every email and calendar touch captured without asking anyone to log it manually, and you want to know which LP to call next based on relationship data. The Scale plan at $2,300 per user per year adds AI agents built for the deal cycle. The pick would move to DealCloud if Affinity's configuration becomes too thin for a multi-strategy firm, or to Vessel if you are signing with a fund operations platform anyway and want the CRM linked to onboarding.
  • Choose Vessel if you are evaluating fund operations software and want the LP CRM, data room, subscriptions and fund administration on one record. Do not buy it as a standalone CRM.
  • Choose Altvia or Dynamo if you want CRM and an LP portal in one system without a separate fund administration contract. Altvia runs on Salesforce and includes a data room; Dynamo does not run on Salesforce.
  • Choose DealCloud if you run a large PE or multi-asset firm that needs a system configurable enough to span deals, investor relations and a services operation.
  • Choose 4Degrees if you want Affinity-style relationship intelligence at a lower per-seat cost and are willing to request the price.
  • Choose folk if you are a small venture team tracking a sub-fifty LP pipeline, want a CRM today at a published monthly price, and plan to migrate to a dedicated platform after Fund I closes.

What goes wrong

CRM data that does not move. A GP who builds LP history in a standalone CRM and then signs a fund operations platform often discovers the two do not talk. Audit the export format before committing.

Activity capture without team agreement. Affinity, 4Degrees and Dynamo capture emails and calendar events automatically. Some GPs want that; some LPs treat automated capture as a relationship boundary. Set expectations with the team and check the vendor's privacy configuration before rollout.

Salesforce configurations that grow to own the GP. Altvia's Salesforce base is powerful. Configurations added over several years of use make migration expensive. Map what you own versus what an integrator built before you start.

A deal CRM used for LP relationships. DealCloud and several platforms here are used primarily for deal flow. LP relationships are one module, not the primary design. A GP whose LPs are the primary audience should confirm the LP module covers what they need before signing.

Terms used in this article

  • LP portal (investor portal) An LP portal, or investor portal, is the secure website where a fund's limited partners log in to view their capital account statements, capital call and distribution notices, quarterly reports, tax documents and fund legal documents, replacing email and PDF distribution.
  • Subscription agreement A subscription agreement is the contract an investor signs to commit capital to a fund, stating the commitment amount, making representations about eligibility as an accredited investor or qualified purchaser, identity and source of funds, and agreeing to be bound by the limited partnership agreement when the general partner accepts the subscription.
