Editorial standards
Short enough to hold us to. Every rule here is also a check that runs before a page can be published.
Sourcing
- Every figure traces to a primary or named source: a vendor's own page, an SEC filing, a fund document, or a person speaking on the record. The link and the date we read it appear with the figure.
- A claim we cannot source, we do not publish. This kills clean-sounding sentences regularly.
- Prices are only ever what the vendor publishes. If nothing is published, the cell says "Quote-based", never an estimate.
- Estimates and ranges, where unavoidable, are labelled as such.
Dating
- Every page carries a visible "Updated" date and a machine-readable one, and they are the same date.
- Every table row carries the date it was last verified. A row older than a quarter gets re-checked or flagged.
Independence and money
- The GP Ledger is an independent publication. Every table row comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on the date shown, and rankings are never for sale.
- Rankings are never for sale. Sponsored content, if we ever run it, is labelled at the point of presentation and uses rel=sponsored links.
- Vendors may correct facts about their own product. They may not influence methodology, conclusions, or order.
Authorship
- The editorial desk is responsible for every page. No invented contributor personas, no fabricated credentials.
- Research, extraction and drafting are AI-assisted. Judgment, sourcing and publication are not. Nothing publishes unread.
Corrections
- Material errors are corrected in place with a dated note in the text. Substantive ones are logged on the corrections page. We do not silently edit.
- Report an error through the contact form. We review within one business day.
