ILPA Portfolio Company Template final release scheduled for January 2027

ILPA is updating its Portfolio Company Template for a January 2027 release, per the templates hub read October 20, 2026. The other three ILPA templates are already live and in use.

Checked against our editorial standards

The ILPA Portfolio Company Template, which standardises how general partners collect and report operating metrics from portfolio companies to limited partners, is being refreshed with a final release scheduled for January 2027, according to ILPA's templates hub page read on October 20, 2026. The three other templates in the set are already live: the ILPA Reporting Template v2.0 (released January 2025, required for funds launched from Q1 2026), the ILPA Capital Call and Distribution Template (refreshed September 2025, in use now), and the ILPA Performance Template (2025). A GP targeting full ILPA template adoption should plan the portfolio company data collection workflow before January 2027, not after, since the new template will require updated fields from portfolio companies whose reporting systems may not yet produce them. The distribution waterfall procedure that feeds the Capital Call and Distribution Template is covered in How to run a distribution waterfall.
